Why We Do What We Do        

 

We pray together out aloud...

Acts 4:24 "They lifted their voices to God in one accord..."

 

We lift our hands in praise...

Psalm 143:2 "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord."

 

We sing with all of our hearts...

Psalm 98:4 "Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;  break forth and sing joy and sing praises."

 

We play musical instruments...

II Samuel 6:5 "... and all the house of Israel were celebrating before the Lord with all kind of instruments..."

 

We clap and shout to God...

Psalm 47:1 "O clap your hands, all peoples;  shout to God with a voice of triumph."

 

We dance before the Lord...

Psalm 150:4 "Praise Him with timbrel and dancing;  praise Him with stringed instruments and organs."

 

We testify publicly...

Psalm 22:22 "I will tell of Thy name to my brethren;  in the midst of the assembly I will praise Thee."

 

We anoint with oil for divine healing...

James 5:14 "Is any among you sick?  Let him call for Elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord."

 

We allow the operation of spiritual gifts...

I Corinthians 14:26 "... When you assemble, each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation.  Let all things be done for edification."
